i thought it would be useful to be able to share a network connection via an unused wireless device.

• when i have a wired connection and sit in a meeting i can share this connection to my partnerss via wifi.
• Or it could be that we temporarily set up shop in a nice biergarten and only one of us has a mobile connection.

Well on the MAC i heard this is possible for some time, on linux it is a recent addition to the ubiquitous NetworkManager, but nothing GUI agnostic is available, except for setting this up manually. Lately i managed to come up with a simple shell script. it only has been tested with ipw2200 and madwifi drivers, but connecting to such a share is even under XP painless. enjoy wshare.
